  • A school of colorful fish -- blue striped grunts -- hide in a nook between the reef and the sandy bottom. Taken while scuba diving the "San Clemente" shallow dive site in Cozumel, Mexico. © Rick Collier
  • A Banded Butterflyfish patrols the top of a reef that is full of life, including small fish and soft and hard corals. Taken while Scuba diving at the "San Clemente" shallow dive site, off Cozumel, Mexico. © Rick Collier
  • A small fairy basslet fish sits next to a large but delicately colored purple barrel sponge on top of the reef. Both are very common on Caribbean reefs. Taken while scuba diving the "Sponges" dive site of Roatan, Honduras. © Rick Collier
  • Small orange tube sponges dot the reef around a small brain coral patch. Taken while scuba diving the "Sponges" dive site of Roatan, Honduras. © Rick Collier
  • Soft corals or anemonies appear to carpet this Caribbean reef top. Taken while scuba diving the "Labyrinth" dive site of Roatan, Honduras. © Rick Collier
  • St. Eustatius (Statia) Underwater - It is always fun to scuba dive on this particularly varied part of the reef. Note sponges, hard and soft corals, and sea fans in abundance. © Rick Collier
  • St. Eustatius (Statia) Underwater - A large number of fish (mostly blue chromis) school over a section of reef at "the blocks." © Rick Collier
  • St. Eustatius (Statia) Underwater - Delicate purple "feather duster" worms are common atop the low reef on the "double wreck" scuba dive site. © Rick Collier
  • Saba Underwater - At the end of the scuba dive, we came up to 15 feet and found that the top of the reef was beautiful in the full sunlight. "Tent Reef." © Rick Collier
  • Saba Underwater - The huge proliferation of yellow tube sponges made this sunlit patch of reef dazzling as we ended our scuba dive. "Tent Reef." © Rick Collier
  • Saba Underwater - As my scuba dive ended and I surfaced from the reef, I reveled in watching the fish life -- especially sergeant major fish -- that was so abundant in the sunlit shallower water at the top of "tent reef" © Rick Collier
  • Saba Underwater - Another perfect "reef scape" from the end of my scuba dive at the "tent reef" site. Yellow corals and sponges abound in the sunlit waters on the top of "tent reef." © Rick Collier
  • Saba Underwater - A scuba diver below the level of the reef provides a bubble background to tropical fish and the sunlit reef as sergeantmajor fish patrol above the yellow tube sponges at "tent reef." © Rick Collier
  • Saba Underwater - A scuba diver will find the sandy bottom and reef at the "hot springs" dive site to be tinted yellow due to a hot sulphur upwelling from the dormant volcano that is Saba. © Rick Collier
  • Saba Underwater - The scene during a "hot springs" scuba dive. A large barrel sponge tops the reef, protecting and framing small fish, plants, and soft corals spread across the top of the reef. © Rick Collier
  • Diving Bonaire, Netherland Antilles -- Enormous schools of relatively unafraid small fish are common at dive sites all around Bonaire. ("The Invisibles" dive site) © Rick Collier<br />
