Luxor, Egypt -- Queen (pharoah) Hatshepsut had two massive obelisks erected near the main temple of Amun at Karnak.   • Luxor, Egypt -- The "Valley of the Dead" or "Valley of the Kings" is a canyon in the western wall of the Nile River valley, not far from Luxor. To accomodate tourists, paths have been made with bordering walls. Excavated tombs are marked with walls and door at the excavation entrance, together with informational signs.
